August Wrap Up!

Here are the 4 books I read this month! I read the first book in about 3 days, the 2nd book in 1 night, and the 4th book in 2 days! The 3rd book took quite awhile though.. I ended up taking a 2 week break from Reboot, but finished it this month! So I really didn't spend this month reading very much. I feel like this was to be expected since this was the last full month before the wedding! In fact, we are getting married in exactly ONE WEEK from today! I can't believe it!

Top Ten Books I'm Dying to Read (or Reread)

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish Blog.

Lately I've been so busy.. (ya ya ya, you know all about it.. new house, I'm getting married in 2 weeks.. you already know) but I've been thinking about how as soon as I don't have to plan for this wedding, I can't wait to jump into SO many new (and not so new) books!

1. The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan

So, I first read the Percy Jackson and the Olympian series back in November/December and LOVED it. I thought the series ended pretty crappy though.. here's your new quest Percy. Opps, now the books over. But when I heard about this new series, I was told that it had nothing to do with Percy. Well, that person was mistaken, it does. Unfortunately, I didn't know and I continued on with different books and haven't since returned to this series. Book number four,The House of Hades, comes out in JUST barely over a month so I REALLY need to get on these three books now if I want to read it!

2. The Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan

3. The Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan

I've recently started doing long book discussions over the Harry Potter series on my Youtube channel, and this is the next book I need to reread! This book is MASSIVE, so unless I plan on posting my GoF discussion is FEBRUARY I should probably start reading..

8. Divergent by Veronica Roth

This is another favorite that I've been MEANING to reread for awhile, but haven't yet. I LOVED this book and can NOT wait for the movie that's coming out in the Spring!! The new teaser trailer made me so excited! I want to reread this and post a discussion (which just happens to be one of my most requested videos lately)

9. Insurgent by Veronica Roth

I can't BELIEVE it's almost time for the 3rd book in the trilogy, Allegiant to come out!!! I'm already planning on rereading the first so I may as well reread this one too! I want everything fresh in my head before October 22nd!

10. Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

So I've only read the Hunger Games trilogy once and I've ALWAYS wanted to go back and reread it. I was hoping to reread the 1st book, make a book discussion, and THEN read this book (and post a discussion), but I may end up skipping my reread of The Hunger Games. (I know it's not the same, but I've seriously watched the movie 10,000 times and I know what happens PRETTY dang well.) Anyways, I'm hoping to reread this book before the movie comes out on November 22nd!! I may even do a movie review as well!

What I've been reading lately...

So lately I've been reading anywhere from 6-12 books a month. It's now August 23rd, and as CRAZY as it seems, I've only managed to finish 1 book! I sped through Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban really quickly (which wasn't that smart because I plan on doing a book discussion over it and I should have taken my time).  I think I'll film that discussion video sometime this next week!

I took a bit of a reading break while I was packing and moving and stuff, but I did start one book on my nook, Reboot, by Amy Tintera. It's odd because I REALLY enjoyed this story in the beginning, but now I'm starting to loose interest. I'm on page 138 out of 233, but I'm just not in the mood to read it.. Hopefully I can pick it back up really soon!

I did start my new job on Thursday the 15th and met my new boss, Michele Spry, who is actually an author! Isn't that awesome?! She wrote a children's story called Mr. T's Hat Rack about paying it forward and how so much good can come from little acts of kindness. I read it in a night, and definitely recommend it! Even though I'm not a child, I could still take away a great message! If I was a mother I could totally see me reading this to my child. There were some really good messages involved.

So since I'm in the middle of rereading the Harry Potter series, I decided to start Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling. I'm planning on reading it reaallly slowly because I don't want a repeat of PoA again. (I rushed through and wrote down hardly anything for my book discussion!) Plus this book is absolutely humongous anyways!

So what have you all read lately? Leave me a comment below letting me know! :D
Have a great day! - Jess
